White Pu-erh. Tea for Collectors.

Pu-erh tea is known to be traditional ancient Chinese tea. But white pu-erh is the youngest among other kinds of tea. This sort became available on the market only in the 21st century. What is so special about it?

White pu-erh is made of the upper buds of the tea plant. It is gathered by hands in early spring. Also sorts differ in their chemical composition. The buds are valued, the harvest is short and that’s why the manufacturing of white pu-erh is limited. And as the result the price is higher.

White pu-erh tea undergoes the same procedure of fermentation, drying, aging and compressing. But unlike other sorts, this period is shorter. White pu-erh is characterized by light and sophisticated taste. The color of infused tea is light and the flavor is gentle. It can be stored for ten years.

Like any other sort, white pu-erh is known for its beneficial effect. It helps digestion, reduces cholesterol and supports immune system. Chemical compounds of this sort of tea lower blood-pressure and help to prevent heart attacks. It is believed that pu-erh tea helps to lose weight (of course, if a person doesn’t eat cakes in enormously big amounts).

But mostly it is valued by tea-collectors. People say that white pu-erh tea is worth its weight in gold.
